Step 3- Complete your certification courses as required. Courses vary in duration from 4 months to 2 years.

Step 4- Armed with the necessary knowledge and skill, you should now take the phlebotomy professional certification exams from an accredited examining authority to receive your phlebotomy certification.

What are the Requirements for Phlebotomy Certification?

A candidate must meet the following phlebotomy certification requirements before he/she becomes a certified phlebotomist:

• The candidate must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or GED certificate.
• Must pass criminal background check.
• Must meet guidelines for vaccination and program specific health requirements.
