What is Phlebotomy?

Phlebotomy is a medical procedure that involves drawing blood from a patient’s body so it can be analyzed in a laboratory. Instruction is often given by a doctor and it  is a routine procedure taught to a registered nurse during their medical training. However, with the increased observance of strict safety standards employed by hospitals , phlebotomy is now recognized as a specialized function and in most cases an individual will need to obtain a phlebotomy certification before practicing.

How do I Get Certification?

Before you become a certified phlebotomist technician, you first need to undergo special training and hone the skills required to obtain a phlebotomy certification.
